Israeli Volunteers Team Up with U.S. Veterans After Hurricane Michael Devastates Florida
The first Category 5 hurricane to hit the contiguous United States in 16 years, Hurricane Michael devastated Floridian houses, hospitals, roads, and water systems as it struck the panhandle, killing 59 Americans and an additional 15 people in Central America. IsraAID quickly heeded the call of duty and joined forces with Team Rubicon, a U.S. military veteran disaster response organization, to provide relief efforts and assist in the return of the thousands of residents of the area that had evacuated their homes. The two organizations conducted a similar and simultaneous collaborative effort in North Carolina, where Hurricane Florence had wreaked havoc and forced the evacuation of residents a month prior.
