IsraAID Sends Team to Flood-Hit Indian State of Kerala
IsraAID sent an emergency response team to Kerala, India, after the South Asian state was hit by the worst flooding it had seen in a century, which left hundreds dead and hundreds of thousands running to emergency relief camps. An emergency response team, including staff from IsraAID’s mission to neighboring Nepal, facilitated the return of evacuees to their homes and distributed relief kits, which included hygiene items, hand sanitizers, and water purification sachets, to help them rebuild and repair. Beyond the resettlement efforts, IsraAID’s volunteers provided safe water assessment and psychological counseling for those suffering from trauma relating to the natural disaster.
